I am the author of Daring to Love, a new book about relationships.
I am the creator and Editor-in-Chief of the website PsychAlive.org.
I am also the editor of books written for the psychology profession by my husband Dr. Robert Firestone. Among these are Conquer Your Critical Inner Voice, The Fantasy Bond and Fear of Intimacy.
I created and launched PsychAlive.org in 2006 with the goal of making the psychological material that Bob was providing professionals available to the general public. To accomplish this, I converted the content of his books and articles into language that everyday people could easily understand, offering psychological information for everyday life. Since its inception, more than five million people have benefited from visiting PsychAlive, as well as from participating in the eCourses and Webinars it offers.
I noticed a spike in interest on Bob’s The Human Experience blog, when he wrote about how and why we sabotage our loving relationships. I thought this subject would make a valuable book for the general public, and when I couldn’t persuade Bob to write it, I decided to write it myself. After all, people are looking for answers to the question that so many seem to be asking: Why do I keep failing in my intimate relationships? Daring to Love is that book.
By the way, Bob ended up editing this book and offering his input, for which I am thankful.

When it comes to finding love, are you standing in your own way? Daring to Love will help you identify the internal barriers that cause you to sabotage your love life, open yourself up to vulnerability, and build the intimate, lasting relationship you truly desire.
Our desire to discover who we are – why we feel and act the ways we do – is what leads us to a meaningful and vital existence.
PsychAlive was created to assist you in this personal journey by providing a place where people can learn to take an active, introspective approach to their lives.
I have edited eight books by Robert Firestone, most recently The Enemy Within, Separation Theory and Voice Therapy. It would be enough that he is the best life partner that I could ever imagine, and that he’s loving and funny and always interesting. But he is also a serious and original thinker and I have been lucky to work closely with him as he has developed his psychological theories and written books about them.
